Carl is the Senior Advisor, Employment and Skills and the Workforce Development Business Advisor for the Hull and East Riding Business, Growth and Skills Hub (HEY BGS Hub). Carl is responsible for establishing and managing the business workforce development aspect of delivery across the Hull and East Yorkshire region as part of the HEY Growth Hub and Employment and Skills Team. 

As part of the HEY Growth Hub, Carl helps to drive forward the economic and strategic growth plan for the HEY region. Providing free individualised and impartial support to SME businesses, undertakes workforce planning, workforce development, health and wellbeing in the workplace, sources funding for workforce skills and training development and raises awareness of latest funding initiatives available to support the economic growth and development of existing businesses and new enterprises.

Carl also leads on managing apprenticeship and industry-based placement enquiries and communicates the apprenticeship offer with external partners and training providers to ensure that businesses are directed to an offer that is most appropriate to them in respect of their workforce development and business growth plans. Carl also engages with larger levy paying companies to secure and retain unspent apprenticeship levy funds for local reinvestment to support the economic growth and development of SME’s across the HEY BGSH region.
